http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/12848

Qué les parece la propuesta?
Gracias!

Marian M.

Esta es la página que he consultado:
http://www.madripedia.es/wiki/Copyright

Saludos

(SPANISH-ENGLISH)
¿Qué os parece este libro? :D
"LECTURAS FACILES CON EJERCICIOS", by Lawrence Wilkins and Max Luria

http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/24250

It seems to me an interesting book for learning the Spanish language.
This book provides reading material from classic Spanish novelists and short story writers.

Extracts from the preface
……
The present volume, it is believed, provides in every-day, idiomatic Spanish, stories and articles that are simple and yet not childish, that can be readily appreciated by the beginner and yet withal are "muy español."
……
. The first part, _Sección de Cuentos Europeos_,
. The second part, _Sección Panamericana_, provides in Spanish interesting information about Latin-American countries
……
Upon the selections in both parts of the book are based exercises of
various types. The authors believe that especial value is attached to
that form of exercise which requires working over in various ways the
idioms found in the text. These idioms, selected by means of footnotes,
not only aid the student in reading the text, but are of still greater
importance in furnishing a basis for the exercises on Spanish locutions
given in connection with nearly every story or article.
……
The important proper nouns that occur in the text are amply explained in
the Spanish-English vocabulary.
…..

But, I’m not sure about the copyright: :?: :?: :help:

Copyright law varies from country to country. LibriVox follows the copyright laws of the United States because all of our files are hosted with Archive.org whose servers are located in the US.

Because Librivox's server and files are hosted in the US, anyone who volunteers for Librivox can legally record works that are public domain in the US. It doesn't matter where you live, it matters where the files are hosted. However, just to be on the safe-side, if you live in a country where a work you wish to record is not in the public domain, you might consider not recording your name or drawing attention to your location.

We have been told (by Project Gutenberg) this is a legal grey area, and not clear one way or the other. but we make no particular effort to know where our readers are located, and we keep no record of where our readers were located at the time of recording, and LibriVox cannot guarantee to check the copyright status of a particular work beyound the US which is the area where we must comply.

As long as a book is PD in the US where we have our servers, it satisfies the legal requirements for LibriVox. If a reader in the EU (or elsewhere) feels uncomfortable with this possibly grey legal interpretation, then certainly they should consider another project (one that is definitely PD in EU - or where they are located). - We try to alert volunteers from life + x countries in the first post of projects if there are potential copyright issues.

I would like to read The Life of St. Teresa of Avila (by herself), in Spanish. Here is a link to the text:
http://www.mercaba.org/FICHAS/Santos/TdeJesus/libro_de_la_vida.htm
I have not found the Spanish original on Project Gutenberg, but there are a couple of translations in English there, like this one:
http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/webbin/gutbook/lookup?num=8120
I'm almost certain that the Spanish version is PD both in the US, and Spain but could some kind soul please confirm that this is correct, and also if I could read it for Librivox from the mercaba.org website mentioned above? I always get kind of confused with these things! :?
Thank you so much!! :D :D
