Desafortunadamente, aquí solo podemos grabar obras que estén en el dominio público en los E.E.U.U. o sea que se hayan publicado antes de 1923. Las obras de Rosario Castellanos no caen en esa categoría.

Mirando los libros que ya han sido grabados, me llamó la atención que "Breve relación de la destrucción de las Indias occidentales" de Fray Bartolomé de las Casas ha sido sólo grabada en inglés, y no en español. Si bien no he leído esta obra, me parece apropiado que se encuentre disponible en el idioma en que fue originalmente escrita. ¿Qué les parece?

Encontré esta edición del año 1821, que espero se encuentre en el dominio público.

Cualquier obra publicada antes de 1923 está en el dominio público, así que, sí.

Hola. Me parece muy acertado grabar esta obra de Fray Bartolomé de las Casas en el idioma original en que fue escrita.
¿Alguien lleva el proyecto?

La pregunta es: si quiero proponer un libro cómo puedo encontrar los textos en español? sobre todo si están traducidos. Me interesan sobre todo clásicos franceses (Victor Hugo, Dumas, etc.) Qué me aconsejan? por la cuestión de los derechos de autor de las traducciones?

Para estar en el dominio público en los EEUU (que es la regla que seguimos en Librivox), el libro original y la traducción deben haberse publicado antes de 1923. Usamos mucho los textos de gutenberg.org, pero dudo que encuentres muchas traducciones al español ahí; a veces también usamos textos de cervantesvirtual.com. Nada más hay que fijarse de la fecha de pulicación de la traducción.

Aqui pongo el email que hice para el registro en inglés.
Mi interés es por el momento en hacer las coberturas en español ( y otras lenguas) de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos. Es decir un reempaquetado de algo que ya está hecho. Espero recibir sugerencias de los usuarios y administradores experimentados.

Hi I am a Spanish man in its fiftys. My interest in librivox is primarily for the time being helping in producing books in Spanish. May be surprisingly I am more interested in producing covers for works, so images rather than sounds. I am Spanish of mother tongue.

By glancing at the forum I see there are already very good producers of cover art. I would be interested in producing cover art for works in Spanish (I could do it also for other languages).

The simplest reason I have decided to join is that I see that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights exists as a multilingual compilation of many languages in several editions. The cover art is only in English. That is wonderful, but I think there could also be individual derivative works in each of the languages with the cover not in English but in the individual language. I would do the cover myself or ask to be done for Spanish, but I think that could be done also for catalan, French, Italian, quechua, nahuatl, arabic. I think there could also be a multilingual edition with the five official languages of the UN (and an appropriate multilingual cover with these 5 languages) and putting as first chapter the one on the cover. Or combining localor regional languages (of the already done i think there are with one or several of the 5 official languages but putting as the first chapter the local language.
So I am basically proposing repackaging or making derivatives. I think there are already several derivatives in the spanish books (first chapters of books)

I think that even for Spanish there are two versions. It could even be possible to combine the two currently existing, for example mixing the recordings and alternating the voices of the readers to make the mix more varied and highlight the collective work.
