Bonjour.

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said,
"no one would come here if they weren't allowed to talk out loud."
So I read out loud.

Bonjour Czandra,

Peter Why wrote: February 22nd, 2006, 11:09 pm How about Les Chansons de Bilitis by Pierre Louys? Unfortunately, there's no English translation available (so there's no point in my listening), but it might be an interesting read for anyone whose French is up to it.

Hello Peter, I am fluent in french and would like to read the ten first chapter if you are still interested.

Hello, and thanks for the offer. The Songs of Bilitis was recorded shortly after I first put my suggestion in the thread: https://librivox.org/les-chansons-de-bilitis-by-pierre-louys/

.... but we would welcome a solo, too, if you'd like to record one.

Hi. I wonder if someone could help me with the correct pronunciation of WWI French warships and an admiral.

The warships are
Bouvet -> boo-vay
Gaulois -> gorl-wah
Suffren -> soo-fren

The admiral is
Rear-Admiral Guépratte -> gyoo-prat(?) gyoo-pra-tay(?)

Thanks in advance.
