Section 33 is cut off partway through.

It cuts off partway through the top paragraph on page 222 "spread on the ground"; missing the rest of the text to page 227.

Cataloged in 2010.

I'll PM the reader and see if she still has the original file.

Section 43 also cuts off unexpectedly.

Section 49 does, too.

That's it. :)

Tricia, assuming the soloist is not available, how does one go about completing this work? I would be happy to do so, but it might be jarring to have a male voice inserted. Then again, even a male voice would be better than missing text.

Assuming the soloist isn't available, second best would be to get a female voice that's similar. Third best is anyone else. ;)

I’m not sure mine is similar enough, but I’d also be willing to help out. Hopefully she’ll be available, though!

Well, she hasn't replied in the 14 months since I sent the PM, so I'm assuming she either doesn't want to or cannot do it. :)

Feel free to do it! You can download the 128kb MP3 and stick in the needed text, then upload it to my folder.

Okay—it might take me a bit, but I’ll plan to do it in the next couple of months, and I’ll let you know if I can’t. (Looks like there are actually two more volumes!)

I notice that my second post here has 2 more sections with missing text. Just an FYI in case it turns out to be too much. :)

FYI, I haven't forgotten about this and still intend to record the missing text. It hasn't quite been two months, but I'm finding myself anxious as the date draws near. (I could, you know, just record it, but I've had a few other things on my plate.) Unless someone else comes along to read it faster, I think I'll have it done in the next few weeks.

I'm also listening to the rest of the book to get a better feeling for the reading style. I've listened to the first m4b file.

I note that there's one additional piece of audio that was cut off--just the words "letter 20" and the 5 seconds of silence at the end. Should I try to add those as well, even though it's relatively short?

The rest of the first m4b file seems to be fine (I didn't follow along with the text, but I didn't notice any other sudden audio jumps).

Thanks,
Stephanie

Absolutely no rush.

I'm not sure if you need to finish off Letter 20. I listened to it. Yeah, it's cut off, but it's obvious it's the end of the file. On the other hand, we like to have the full "end of letter 20" on individual files, so one knows which file one has just heard to be sure the next is in order. *shrug* So yeah, maybe do fix that up, too.

At long last, here's Section 20. This was just copy and paste to get Letter 20 and the 5 seconds of silence at the end.

Let me know if you need this uploaded to a different folder OR named differently for some reason. I added the _128kb at the end as we do now, but the originals didn't have this--so let me know if that's going to be an issue.

I've got the others recorded, but they need editing and then being smoothed into the existing files. I know the voices won't be exactly the same (e.g., character voices as much as she does them), but I'm thinking existing is better than not!

Thanks,
Stephanie

Thanks!

Yeah, probably best to not have the _128kb on there, to match the other files. But it's not a big deal for me to rename the file(s).

I'll check this one out in a while. I've got errands to run. 8-)

Hi, Tricia,

Here's letter 33. There's obviously a difference between the two of us--let me know if there's anything you can think of to do to improve it.

I did take out the start of the sentence so that the whole sentence was in my voice. I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not.

I did a noise reduction on her original track because there was a lot of background noise and Checker was choking. Then I added my noise reduced file in. I had originally doing some other compressions/loudness normalizations to mine, but it seemed to fit the volume better without all that.

It looks like she had some clipping in her original file, but Checker doesn't catch it for some reason; I didn't do anything with that.

Hi, Tricia,

Here's letter 43.

I did noise reduction on the original again (as well as mine) and actually amplified mine a bit to match hers.

Let me know.

I've got one more to edit/stitch, but I need to work now. Maybe tomorrow! We will see.

Thanks,
Stephanie
