-Hello, I've found several stories in the Children's Religious Non-Fiction section that are based on true events but are not non-fiction. Please move them to the fiction section. Thank you.
Examples:
Misclassified stories.

Hi,

I was the reader for these books. Most of them do belong in non-fiction. The first one is a biography - slightly fictionalized as it is for children, but still a biography.

The second one is on the Passion and Death of Our Lord - definitely does not belong in fiction.

It may be the case that some were categorized in both fiction and non-fiction. It has been quite a few years since I recorded them, and I don't recall. I will look them over to see if I think the categories are appropriate.

All religious stories of any religion are classified as non-fiction/religion.

Well, sort of. Accounts or stories from the sacred texts are classified that way. A book about the Little Drummer Boy banging his drum at the Manger would still be considered fiction. 8-)

That's why I said religious stories - I couldn't think of a better one, I thought stories that the author believed true wasn't quite right - Conan Doyle believed in fairies and then there are tooth fairies and Santas :D

Actually - CD's fairies are non-fiction :D . :D

Question: Is Titanic by James Cameron a non-fiction movie because it was based on true events and contains real historical figures? Of course not. It's based on true events fiction as are the stories I listed. I'm not refuting them based on religious grounds, they're literally about fictional non-canon characters. It is dishonest to classify them as otherwise.

We aren't in the movie business. That's how we classify things - we aren't a library either :D . And dishonesty/honesty does not come into it.

To go through the ones you posted about specifically:

https://librivox.org/a-crown-for-joanna-by-sister-mary-jean-dorcy/ - Biography
https://librivox.org/God-died-at-three-oclock-by-rev-gerald-t-brennan/ - Good Friday/Our Lord's Passion and Death
https://librivox.org/the-ghost-of-kingdom-come-by-rev-gerald-t-brennan/ - This one I did take of non-fiction as it was borderline
https://librivox.org/going-his-way-little-talks-to-little-folks-by-rev-gerald-t-brennan/ - Sermons for Children
https://librivox.org/first-communion-days-by-a-sister-of-notre-dame/ - True life stories about little children who actually lived - not fiction

I went through the genres of every book I recorded, as there are quite a few in the children's religious category. The only one I took out of non-fiction was "The Ghost of Kingdom Come", as I thought it was too borderline.

So you don't classify to library standards and you want people to treat you like you're legitimate? OK then. See how that works out for you. By the way, deliberately misrepresenting something is in fact lying.

A crown for Joana starts off with a made-up conversation between villagers who never existed. Fiction. Not total fiction I'll admit but non-fiction is noted for not having any fiction elements. So fiction.
The sermons for children, who is Jo Anne Murphy? Who was recording her conversations with her mother? It sounds made up i.e. fictional.
First communion days, again who is recording these stories? Who recorded the dialogue? Or was it made up i.e. fiction?

Now let me say if someone can prove these conversations and events actually happened as stated I'll believe them.

I just looked at a number of ex-library copies of children's biographies on my own personal book shelves. Both religious and secular. They were all categorized as Biography, not fiction, by the public libraries that they came from. In all instances these are very, very fictionalized biographies.

Also, I looked up a number of these titles on inter-library loan to see how actual libraries were classifying them. They concurred with my decisions with what was non-fiction and fiction. In fact they even took it much farther than I would - one was under Doctrinal Theology, (along with other categories). :-)

All the best.

Let's keep this friendly, shall we? This is not. And if there was anybody willing to have a closer look at this, you just blew it with this attitude.

We do not "classify to library standards" because we are not a library. We produce audiobooks.
And as to "see how that works out for you": 1,212,826,788 total views/downloads of our 13,594 items as to date, according to archive, where we store our files. Seems we're doing just fine.

All the best.
