the track numbers are out of sequence with most of them listed as 'track 1' in the album

What album?

How are you listening to the files? Did you download them? If so, which format (128 kbps / 64 kbps MP3, Ogg Vorbis, something else)?

(I'm downloading the files to check, but it takes a while.)

64 kb files are in order, but have no track numbers. I think this is common on the 64 kb files.

I downloaded 2 of the 128 kb files. The track numbers are there and are correct.

the 64 kb files are listed in order on the page here, but when opening the zip file and placing them into an mp3 player, they seem to be out of order because of the track order numbers. it just means that section 01 for example would not be after the preface in the album

I don't think there's anything we can do about that on our end. The files are named so they'll be in order alphanumerically. Same with the title tags. The only issue is the track numbers - Archive doesn't (or didn't when this was cataloged) add track numbers to derived files, even though they're in the original (128kb) files.

Can your MP3 player sort by file name or chapter title instead of track number?

I think most music players sort first by the track number then by the title, then the order the physical data is arranged in the album as priority. one solution is to simply edit the file directly, which is what i have done in this case

I think that's all that can be done, when/if Archive doesn't transfer over the track numbers when it derives the 64kb files. :hmm:

if you listen on an iThing you could use the m4B format. Before I started using that I often had to add track numbers to play things in order - I never could work out what the order finished up in those cases
