Title: Call of the Wild
url: http://librivox.org/call-of-the-wild-by-jack-london/
download: downloaded zip file of entire book
Problem: Chapter 7 (last chapter) is frequently interrupted by a very loud "bang!" noise.
(and this is a shame because it is a great book and wonderully read except for this problem)

Confirmed in both the 64k and 128k individual downloads. I'll try to contact the reader, Miette, and se if she still has a clean copy.

EDIT: PM sent to reader.

PM back from Miette. The section will be re-recorded, but it will take a couple of weeks. I'll post here when it's ready to be proofed.

Well, we can't disappoint the folks coming over from SFFAudio now, can we? After all, Jesse did hype our version of Call of the Wild over another one...

yes, but I bet you (and SFFAudio) don't know who Miette is (the first queen of podcast audioliterature, who made all her first recordings, kinda like the early Lou Reed, with cheap instruments and without ever saying sorry)... Or that Call of the Wild was our second (maybe third) collaborative project?

You're right, I didn't. I feel honored that I received such a quick response. Thanks for posting the link to her blog, Hugh.

Hiya everybody...

I PMed PaulW several weeks ago asking if he was still in charge of the project. My recording setup has improved by orders and orders of magnitude and I'm happy to rerecord... but want to make sure there's someone around to do something with it. Let me know if someone's on top of this project and I'm happy to do it.

Thanks, Miette!

PaulW hasn't been around for a while, but another MC can take care of it for you. I'm willing.

Go ahead and re-record, and upload it to folder tg - TriciaG. Either PM me or post in here when it's ready, and I'll take it from there.

Hi, Miette! Paul hasn't been around for some time, but if you will upload your file to the "law" folder on the Uploader, I'll replace it for you.

By the way, anyone know why there's a copyrighted photo on the catalog page for this? It isn't the album art. I'm about to go take it down unless somebody tells me there's a reason for it to be there...

edited to add: OK, or Tricia's folder. One of us will take care of it and it doesn't matter that much which folder you upload to, as long as you post the link so we can find it.

Dang, you folks are QUICK. I'll rerecord next week and post it all over everybody's folders, or somewhere... I'll be in touch!

Thanks

Your new admin KiltedDragon is one hell of an arm-twister. I just re-recorded this. I would hand it over to KiltedDragon to edit, as he kindly offered, but there are quite a few intermittent nasty swearing fits throughout, as the guy in the next office decided, apparently, to move a bowling alley into his space, and welcome the new operation with a marching band. The bastard.

Right right! I'll edit this weekend and post an update on Monday!
