Source text (please read only from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/39384

Deadline: Please submit your recording within 2 months of placing your claim. If you cannot complete the recording within this time, please post in the thread to relinquish your claim or to ask the BC for an extension. If your recording is not completed by the deadline, your claim may be reassigned at the BC's discretion.

Claiming sections: Look in the Magic Window below for the list of available sections. Post a reply in this thread asking for the section you would like to record.

New to recording? Please see our Newbie Guide to Recording for further instructions. A quick guide to our required technical settings can be found here. When you post your file, please tell the BC what name you would like to use in our catalog.

Prooflistening level: Standard but there will be music files being edited into the narrated files as they come in. The narration will be PL OK'd (or PL Noted but then fixed,) and then I will add the music in once it is PL OK. Then, there will be a final spot PL at the times in which music was added in.
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I saw that this project was already begun, but then abandoned so I thought it might be possible to use the already-recorded sections.

Yes that is possible. We will just use the old project number and all the existing files will be still in the MW.

Hello,
I'd like to read some FMB's letters from Italy for the completion of this project. The old MW is not informative as to the sections for free claiming though. I'll have to keep an eye i guess.
Well done for coordinating abandoned projects.
Thanks

👋Hi, let me MC for this project. You already have access to the Magic Window, Mozart jr, see how you'd like to split the rest of the text and if you'll need more sections. I will soon move the existing files to my folder - I'll post again when that happens. In the meantime, the links in the MW work, so you can check where the previous reader left off, etc.

Hi Mozartjr. The previous soloist was including the transcribed music in the recordings, check for example section 3 around 1:10
Is that something you'd like for the rest of the project?

Oh, I forgot to mention that. Yes, I was planning on editing that in myself as the narrators submit the chapter recordings.
Thanks,

In that case, what's the plan regarding proof-listening? I think maybe, the submitted files should get the PL OK, then the music added, then a spot-check at the time-stamps of the added music.

Moving to Readers Wanted!

If you are able to, I think it's a good idea to add word counts.
