Christie's Christmas, by Pansy (1841 - 1930)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/christies-christmas-by-pansy/
Now that the railroad has come through, Christie Tucker's parents have decided to save enough for her to go to her well-to-do Uncle Daniel for a one-day visit, on Christmas, which is also Christie's birthday. It's her first trip away from home -- and on the cars! Of course, the trip doesn't turn out exactly as expected. (Summary by TriciaG)

Target completion date: 2022-12-25

Prooflistening level: Special
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Chapter 2 PL OK

Well, we're still "on track"

This was very handy to have this morning. I wanted to listen to something while I eat but didn't want to get caught up in something long. Now I need to go take that shower....

Chapter 3's up.
Towards the end of the chapter: "It's the switch." - Err, I think he meant, "It's the siding." Or maybe he did mean a place where one could go to the other set of tracks? :hmm: But it does seem like they meant the place where the slower train could wait for the express to go by. *sigh* Ah, well!

I'm glad I could accommodate your breakfast entertainment needs.

Chapter 3 PL OK

I note what you mean about the switch.
Well, it appears it's a good thing they went back and picked him up. More danger than just being left behind. This is an interesting story. I believe you think so also because I can tell when you're bored with a book and I don't detect that here.

PS - I did eat my scrambled eggs while listening.

The next chapter is up - finally! :)

I wonder where the express train went. Maybe it's stopped further up the track. *shrug*

Chapter 4 PL OK

I'm with you - did the express make it past the washout; did the express stop in time; did the express... go boom-didy-boom? Or did the express poof into thin air?
