Short Story Collection 104, by Various

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/short-story-collection-104-by-various/

Old favorites, such as Charles Dickens, Ernest Hemingway and O. Henry make appearances in this 104th edition of the Librivox Short Story Collection. As always, stories were selected and read by dedicated volunteers. We invite you to sit back and enjoy!
For clarification of what "in the Public Domain" means read this. Try to stay with works that run less than 60 minutes [74 minutes is the absolute max]. There is no need to sign-up before recording, as long as the work is clearly in the Public Domain. But please note: Wikisource CAN NOT be used as a source. See "Our policy on text sources."

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The main thing is the text link, especially with an author we know is in the catalog 8-)

Cross Country Snow

~1:15 repeat "and left him only the flying, dropping sensation..." and then "He rose to a slight up-run"
~2:00 stumble "then struck.... then struck... then struck"
~2:40 repeat "what's it like over the khud? Nick..."
~2:50 throat clearing
~3:55 repeat "kicking up"

Kevin, is this the raw file? I stopped listening at this point as it wasn't up to your usual standard :hmm:

I'm so sorry. I recorded this some time ago and obviously forgot that it needed to be edited.

I don't think I'll be recording anything in advance anymore.

Not to worry… I once fell asleep during editing and didn’t realize there was 30 minutes of unedited material in the middle
