Quiet Talks on Power, by Samuel Dickey Gordon (1859 - 1936)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/quiet-talks-on-power-by-samuel-dickey-gordon/
The first book of S. D. Gordon's famous "Quiet Talks" series, "Quiet Talks on Power", explores man's inward desire for power, and shows that the Holy Spirit is the only source of true power to be found in the world. Gordon demonstrates that walking daily with God results in an evident power and authority from God to meaningfully change the world. (Summary by Justin Vistine)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/files/20731/20731-h/20731-h.htm

Target completion date: 2022-10-01

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

All right - this is set up!

As you're the soloist, you're in charge of updating the Magic Window.

Detailed Instructions for accessing the Magic Window can be found in the document linked here: Instructions for Soloists

I've entered the first two chapters for you as an example. You can fill in the rest.

When you upload a chapter, put the file duration (mm:ss) in the Notes field and the uploaded URL into the Listen URL field, and mark it from Assigned to Ready for PL.

I added Matt as DPL. If it's the wrong Matt Allen, let me know. :) He'll need to do the first time login into the workflow (magic window) as described on the wiki page, too, in order to set up his workflow password.

Hello, thank you for setting this up! I went to the wiki page and followed the instructions, clicking on login for BCs and MCs, changed my password, re-logged in, and found my librivox management dashboard, but I am not seeing the BC admin link for this project. When I tried to view the video on youtube about how to edit the magic window from the section compiler screen, I get a notice that the video is private, and I don't have access to it. All I see on my librivox management dashboard next to this project is the forum url, which brings me to this page, the catalog url, which leads me back to the librivox management dashboard, where I was before, and the ID number for the project, which does the same thing as the forum url. I was just wondering where I could find the BC admin link, and if I could somehow get access to the youtube video, which might help. Thanks!

In the meantime, until I can update the magic window, here is the first section of the book, ready for PL:

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/quiettalksonpower_01_gordon_128kb.mp3
Duration: 33:39

I will let Matt know about this and walk him through the process soon so he can PL. Thank you so much for all your help!

Directly under the Magic Window is the "BC Admin" link. Click that, and you should get into the Magic Window / Section Compiler. (The Section Compiler, where all the sections are listed, is the same as the Magic Window aside from some cosmetic differences.)

Apparently YouTube changed the video in some security sweep a year ago. It should be viewable now.

Also, I'm not sure if Matt is going to be able to PL this project. He might be able to in the future, but at the moment he seems to be kind of busy. Is there a way I could potentially find someone else who is willing to PL these first two recordings?
