Letty, by Arthur Wing Pinero (1855 - 1934)
Letty is another one of Pinero's Social Plays, exposing the double standard of woman's reputations suffering for actions that in men were not only allowed, but even expected. Letty is a romantic shop assistant who considers bettering her station in life with a marriage to her employer. This play was filmed as a silent movie in 1919 called The Loves of Letty.
(Summary by ToddHW)
Here's another Pinero. Be on your best behavior, becuz meeting bigoted expectations is what matters in the world of this play.

Kitty will be your spirit guide and DPL.

Gender neutral of course, just to show that things have improved somewhat since the time of this play!!

hey, Wayne, thank you so much for this. I like it that the butler for once has more to say than just usher the people in. You played him to perfection, a regular Jeeves I would say, but the bit of a rasp you put into your voice give him an interesting twist. I picture him an ex-conman, now gone straight and making an honourable living for once. I can still see a scar on his cheek from a backalley brawl....

Act 4 is PL ok.

One small cut for Act 1:

> at 0:29: (p. 45) repeat, one version can get cut: "Extremely sorry, sir. I should hardly say it was as warm as all that."

thanks

Sonia
