The Space Pioneers, by Carey Rockwell
The fourth book in Grosset & Dunlap's Tom Corbett, Space Cadet series. Tom, Roger and Astro are assigned to help establish a new settlement on the distant planet Roald. Things turn sour for the colonists as greed and corruption take over. Can the three cadets - light years from Solar Guard support - set things right? (Summary by Rich Brown)

I'll start this one to complete the recordable books in the "Tom Corbett - Space Cadet" series. The books in publication order are:
Stand By For Mars (1952) - (LibriVox Collaborative Recording)
Danger in Deep Space (1953) - (LibriVox Dramatic Reading)
On the Trail of the Space Pirates (1953) - (LibriVox Collaborative Recording)
The Space Pioneers (1953) - (not yet recorded)
The Revolt on Venus (1954) - (LibriVox Dramatic Reading)
Treachery in Outer Space (1954) - (LibriVox Solo Recording)
Sabotage in Space (1955) - (LibriVox Solo Recording)
The Robot Rocket (1956) - (still in copyright?)

A DPL would be most welcome.

Stand by for thrills, adventure and somewhat questionable science!

Let me recover a bit! If you have an idea for a DR let me know. It would have to be something I can stand for 6 months or more.

Chapter 1 is yours.
And it may be time to move this project thread to Readers Wanted: Books.

Hello!
I am a new volunteer here. I had never read this book before, but it seems to be interesting. Would you mind if I record Chapter 2?

I'll hold chapter 2 for you, but first you should complete your "1-minute test" which confirms your recordings will be in the proper format and in the correct volume range for LibriVox. See: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test as well as the first two posts in the "Post Your -Minute Test Recording Here" section of the forums - viewforum.php?f=21.

You should also pick what name you would like to use for the LibriVox catalog - that may be the same as or different from your forum name "JuliaOsn". Many people use their normal Real World name but that's up to you.

The New Users FAQ post - viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1491 - has links to more information.

And, most importantly, welcome to LibriVox. If you have questions just ask. We are a pretty friendly crowd.

Eleven is yours. I’ll add that to the Magic Window when I’m at my computer.
