Essays and Reviews, by Charles Hodge (1797 - 1878)
Charles Hodge, one of America's foremost theologians, founded the Princeton Review (originally 'Biblical Repertory') in 1825. Hodge took the opportunity to respond to many controversial issues in his day, touching theology, biblical interpretation, church controversy, missionary activity and social issues. The articles in this volume were collected by Hodge in 1857. Each section begins with a footnote stating the date of publication and the material to which he is responding.

As with all historical texts, the language used in this volume should be interpreted within the context of the entire work and the cultural context of its publication.
This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/essays-and-reviews-by-charles-hodge/

Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'd be happy to PL this for you! :D
Thank you

Wonderful! I have to warn you that it's pretty dense so you're free to step out after a few sections (particularly I'd say don't judge it on section 1 alone without listening to section 2).

A few months ago I read the first few sections and found it somewhat interesting to be honest, only made it a few sections, but this would be great way for me to continue lol.

Hi,
I'll MC this for you. Since you have a proof listener, I'll move you to going solo.
Have a good night.

Sorry about dragging my feet on this one. I've got the first 3 sections recorded but editing the Latin on the first section is so tedious that I keep doing a 10 minute block at a time and then moving on to something easier. It will come soon and then it should be a straight run for the following sections.
