The Plan of Salvation, by Benjamin B. Warfield (1851 - 1921)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-plan-of-salvation-by-benjamin-b-warfield/
Five Lectures Delivered at The Princeton Summer School of Theology, June, 1914. In these lectures, Warfield distinguishes between different conceptions of salvation: naturalistic vs. supernaturalistic, sacerdotal vs. evangelical, universalistic vs. particularistic which act as a kind of flow chart showing what is known in theology as 'the order of decrees'. On page 33 of the text, there is a table (which is described in the reading) that places various branches of the Christian Church within this scheme. (Summary by InTheDesert)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://archive.org/details/planofsalvation00warf/page/n4/mode/1up

Target completion date: 2021-12-31

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Have put it into the summary and written my own since Warfield is a bit dense if I just use his own intro.

As expected, absolutely outstanding reading.

No technical issues, just a very few content items:

10:27 skipped a line "and that it is God alone who saves the soul."
14:28 "antinaturalistic", I heard "antisupernaturalistic"
29:52 repeat: "in the framing of the supralapsarian scheme"

I will be getting through the other chapters as quickly as possible: looking forward to hearing them.

Thanks for the compliment. I've toned down my postprocessing for this recording and worked on my breathing. Glad to hear it has paid off.

Section 1 Spot Checks
10:23 skipped a line "and that it is God alone who saves the soul."
14:30 "antinaturalistic", I heard "antisupernaturalistic"
29:52 repeat: "in the framing of the supralapsarian scheme"

Something very close. I also do a light EQ to reduce the bass and increase the treble from my microphone and it also automatically adds the initial and final silence that LV requires on tracks.

Thanks for the info on your approach to post-production. I will have a look at adding the silences as I am currently doing that manually.

For section two, I found some small issues:

29:41 missed line "innumerable disciples and imitators"
29:44 repeat: "we are told … praying in the temple"
32:03 repeat: "and should we … whosoever will"

Keep up the good work! :)

Section four:

Interesting and thought provoking chapter.
"Quite a task - for a dead man."

Just one correction:
20:02 repeat "so that what … saves none"

One short repeat at 18:52 "As bad Calvinism"

Excellent work on this project - what is up next?
