This was founded in 1876 as a quarterly magazine containing articles about politics, culture, religion, the arts and literature. The founders were Herman J Heuser and James A Corcoran. Corcoran was also the chief editor of the magazine which ran until 1924. (Summary by Michele Eaton )

OK Michele. Your MW is ready.

Where did you see Corcoran as the author? I've changed it to various in the catalog record and the section file name since each article is written by a different person ... but if Corcoran is listed somewhere as the editor, we can change it back.

In our catalog, we use "collection" for works from various sources (like the science fiction collection). When all the material is from one printed book, we treat that a as a book, not a collection of article, so we don't enter the author in the author field for each section in the MW. Instead, you can include the author's name in the section title.

Hi sorry I wasn't sure what to put. He was one of the founders of the magazine along with Herman J. Heuser. Corcoran was also chief editor. Sorry if I messed things up.

What is the best way to populate the MW what information should I include for each section thanks

I didn't realize that. Maybe mention them in the summary if their involvement is important?

And I've filled in the first two section titles to show you what I mean. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for that I have updated the summary hope that is ok I seem to remember that it doesn't automatically update for cataloguing is that right.

So do I need to take James Corcoran out of the intro and outro so readers would say the following
"Section # of The American Catholic Quarterly Volume 1. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "The American Catholic Quarterly Volume 1, by Section Title."
So for section two they would read the following.
"Section 02 of The American Catholic Quarterly Volume 1. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "The American Catholic Quarterly Volume 1, Anti-Catholic Prejudice by Rev. James O'Conner

Yes, I think that looks good. It's consistent with what I've seen on other similar projects.

I have started filling out the MW but the process is a bit more complicated as I need to split up each section into 2 or 3 parts. Will keep updating when I have time. Claims can be made for the first 20 sections no problem.

Hi Mary Ann,

I'm coming back from a fairly long break but I'd love to take on the Salutory. With maybe some more down the line! I love Religious Lit.

Thanks,

Andrew

There is some good reading to do here. May plate is pretty full right now, but I'd like to go ahead and got a bid in for at least one section even though I can't get to it right away, and resist the temptation to claim anything more for now.

Could I put a bid in for Section 3?
