Look to the Stars, by Willard E. Hawkins

This project is in our catalog at https://librivox.org/look-to-the-stars-by-willard-e-hawkins/

Volunteers outside the USA: Willard E. Hawkins died in 1970. His work is still protected by copyright in places, like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, and Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1954).
A space opera and adventure fiction tale from the American fantasy and science fiction magazine "Imagination" (Summary by Ares)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/65075

Target completion date: 0-12-00

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Phil and Ares, stopped by to see what this is about. We're interested in stars, ya know! Not sure what this last sentence in the First Post means. Can readers access the Section compiler now?

I think it means that the soloist may post the link in the thread as well as in the magic window. I guess. Hi MIchelle! About the section compiler, I guess they can since the mc is up. :hmm:

I put you in there. Click 'add reader' and put you name in the box then choose your name from the drop down list. You can't just type it in.

Section 0 PL note:

All okay, except delete 00:22 to 00:35:

"The sky is filled with lonely stones—planets
waiting for the first breath of life to warm them.
N'urth was such a world—and the Gods smiled on it."

This is just a blurb from the original magazine and not part of the actual text.

Phil: Pls update MW access for me so I can post.

Chapter 1 PL notes:

The intro should be: Chapter 1 of Look to the Stars. This LibriVox recording is in the public domain. Chapter 1 of Look to the Stars, by Willard Hawkins.

02:29 - "Because she ain't got no lights—that's why." "got" is missing
07:05 - "...as McGruder attempted to thrust his bulk between them." "between them" is missing.
