The Story My Doggie Told to Me, by Ralph Henry Barbour (1870 - 1944)
The author of this book, Ralph Henry Barbour, was a prolific writer of scholastic and college sports and adventure fiction for boys. Here is a departure from that niche. This is a story about the good, and not so good, adventures of Fritz the dachshund, as a puppy (Part 1) and an adult dog (Part 2), as told by ... Fritz the dachshund. A very heart-warming story for children. (To be reviewed for changes prior to completion of project.) (Summary by Donald Cummings)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/65001

Target completion date: 2021-11-01

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Do you need a DPL still?

If so, I'm willing to do it for you.

Looking forward to hearing of the puppy's antics.

Section 1 is PL OK. Nicely read. I would recommend to shorten the silence a little at the end in the future so it is closer to 5 seconds.

Hope you have as much fun reading it as I am listening to it. :D

Section 02 is available for PL (6:07)

Thanks for the ending silence recommendation. You are the first in over 200 recordings of 11 solos (and other projects) to bring that to my attention. I generally target 5.5 seconds of ending silence (+ or - a half second) in order to ensure that there is not less than 5 seconds, which LV guidance I've always interpreted as a minimum number rather than an absolute number.

In the case of Section 1, it was at the longer end of my range (5-6 seconds), so I'll keep an eye on that going forward. :)

I'm glad you are enjoying the book, and I thank you for your diligence,

I've heard that it should be around 5 seconds which is why I mentioned it.

Anyway, chapter 2 is another nicely read chapter.

PL OK.
