    1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a part to record, simply look at column 2 "Title". All the roles without names beside them (in the "Reader" column) are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which role you would like to read. Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (Please only read from scripts in Magic Window!): https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.184960/
    5. Please claim roles (column 2)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi TJ!

Great to see this classic getting the LibriVox DR treatment this soon and I'd love to be involved in some way. I'd love to play whichever of the male roles in this that are still open (as I'm assuming you'll be taking care of Nick as the narrator). :D

Great to have you on board, Tomas!
Yes, my plan was to play Nick. How would you like to play Gatsby? You'd be fantastic! All the other male roles are also open. Cadastra will be playing Daisy.
But... if you really want to play Nick, I could be Jordan. That'd be fun for me too (and less work). But, for now... I'll reserve Gatsby for you. :D
(I've tried to script the book to have the narrator's part read by as many people as possible (so I've given lots of paraphrased sections and backstory explanations to the characters themselves, rather than to the narrator -- makes for more exciting drama).

Hi TJ
I would very much like to read George Wilson.
A small role but an important one.
I think I can do the accent :hmm:

Fantastic, Alan! It's actually not that small. And he does a lot of crying too, so get your tissues out...
(I have no doubt you can do the accent :D ).

Hi TJ!

I see Daisy is already spoken for. If you don't end up doing Jordon, I'd like to claim her :)

Wow, lots of excitement building, as expected. I'll admit, when I read this book in high school, I hated it. When I read it again 6 or 8 years ago, I still disliked it, although I could kind of see what others saw in it. I'm not sure I'll ever really like it...

However, I'm totally willing to MC for you. :D I do need to see the text you're using, though. The link you have here is to The Story Girl.

Well, since we both went to that school in New Haven, I'd be willing to take on Tom, if you think I'll fit. Sounds like you're lining up a great cast.

I would love to read for Owl Eyes, please and thanks!
