The Wishing-Stone Stories by Thornton W. Burgess (1874 - 1965).

“Tommy scuffed his bare, brown feet in the grass … A scowl, a deep, dark, heavy scowl, had chased all merriment from his round, freckled face. It seemed as if the very freckles were trying to hide from it. Tommy didn’t care. He said so. He said so right out loud. He didn’t care if all the world knew it. He wanted the world to know it. It was a horrid old world anyway…” [from Chapter 1]
Soon, Tommy finds the “wishing stone.” His wishes transform him into a mouse, and then a succession of animals of the forest giving him a new perspective and exciting adventures, including times with Peter Rabbit and other forest friends. What will he finally learn about himself and the world?

    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/63417
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

I will sure do that.
I'll be away for a few days, but will put you in for something.
There are three sections, so how about the first one in each of those?

Thanks, Jo, for setting this up!'
The MW us set up, and claims put in.

Nan, I've put you in for two, since that is what you requested.
If you want something different, or to take the third one, just let me know.

A DPL would be most welcome!

Are you looking for a reader for How it Happened that Reddy Fox Gained a Friend? I'd be glad to do that, if it's still available. :)

Certainly, Peter!

Before I can officially assign this to you, I need to add you to the LibriVox catalog of readers. How would you like to be listed? Real name, pseudonym or any nickname you wish is fine. This is how you will be credited for all of you LV work.

And, just a hint - it is best to make your requests by Section number, in this case Section 9, which is saved for you.

Let me know if you have any questions along the way. We're always glad to help.

Many thanks, Silverquill!

Could you list me as Peter Davies, please?

And thank you for the hint about section numbers - I'll bear that in mind for the future.
