Twilight in Italy by D. H. Lawrence (1885 - 1930).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/twilight-in-italy-by-d-h-lawrence/
This is one of the author's "travel books", recounting his walking journeys in and around the Lago di Garda in Northern Italy. Every turn prompts musings on the nature and character of the people he encounters and their relationship to the land which they inhabit. His insights, while sometimes condescending, show elements of Lawrence's analysis of the human condition, and his despair over the relentless erosion of a bucolic environment with the advance of modernism. IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Section 01 is PL OK. Plus some notes:

Bavaria + Bavarian: I’m hearing a different vowel sound in the second syllable. I know you sometimes favour the native-language pronunciation over the English with words with identical or very similar spelling, but (at least to my eyes and ears!) Bayern is quite a different beast, so I’m not sure that’s where that vowel is coming from.

Baroque: The first site does give two pronunciations, but it looks like one is more common in British English and the other is more common in American English. I’m not sure if you have any accent work lined up, but maybe knowing the difference will be useful!

Hi Erin
After thinking about what you said, have reuploaded Sect 1 with the "Bavarian" pronunciations changed to the standard one.

Decided the way I was pronouncing it was idiosyncratic and probably worth changing.
Cheers
Peter

No problem at all. Section 1 is spot PL OK. I envy how smooth your edits are.

One note for section 2:

25.16, omission
Night and day are one, light and dark are one, [both the same in the origin and in the issue,] both the same in the moment, of ecstasy...
