The Life of Washington, Volume 5, by John Marshall (1755 - 1835).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-life-of-washington-volume-5-by-john-james-marshall/

Volume five of John Marshall's biography follows Washington through his second term ending in the election of John Adams and Washington's retirement to Mount Vernon. This narrative continues the careful and intriguing analysis of the subjects of the previous volume as America navigates with Washington's wise captaincy the complicated and sometimes violent foreign and domestic conflicts of the young, developing nation. ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/18595
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Ann, here is the new one. It looks as if it is shorter than the others, but we will see. Thanks again for hanging in here with me. Jim

Hi! As far as I can tell there is no DPL for this project yet. Would you like me to DPL for you?

Thanks for the offer, but Ann has been doing it. You might check with her. I need someone for another project if you are interested. Jim

Siler,
There are two ways to check to see if a project has a DPL. The first is whether there is a ~ in the subject line, right at the beginning of the line. The second is in the Magic Window itself. Right above the sections, there is a line that says,
This project has a dedicated proof-listener who will listen to all sections: icequeen
Thank you for the offer, but I can handle 4 sections. But, I think I will keep you in mind, just in case I have a project that needs one!

Here are the other two parts of Chapter 1. By the end, I was a mess. Hope you can make sense of it! Jim
