Volume 14 is a compilation of essays regarding accomplishments over the 50 years preceding the author's death in 1894. The editorial staff chose the people that they felt best exemplified Lord's criteria of being a historical force to represent the worlds of music, art, science and invention. Though not personally written by Lord, the book is attributed to him. ( KHand)
