The Three Voyages of Captain Cook Round the World. The First Voyage by James Cook (1728 - 1779) and others.
The first of 3 voyages of Captain Cook - this one is to New Zealand and the South Pacific. More to come when I digest the book. ( Lynda Marie Neilson)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/56196
    https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/57152
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi there whomever wants to MC this.

I was not really sure how to set this up - there are actually 2 links total of Books I - III for the 1st Voyage.

Here is the link to the other Gutenburg book that I want to append onto this Librivox reading and list Chapters Book I - x-x Book II y-y and Book III - z-z

The Three Voyages of Captain Cook Round the World. Vol. II. Being the Second of the First Voyage
https://www.gutenberg.org/files/57152/57152-h/57152-h.htm

I misunderstood when I created the above that it was just one Gutenburg book but now I see that it is two that makes up the whole 1st voyage. I hope I set this up correctly!
Please advise...

We can put in two text sources on the catalog page.

I'll set this up for you.

EDIT: A couple notes:
- I've fixed your text links. Please when setting up a project, link to the main Gutenberg page for the book rather than directly to the html text.
- You've entered fiction genres. I'll fix these for you, but in future projects please make sure you're in non-fiction if it's a non-fiction work. ;)
- It looks like you submitted the template with 26 files requested, then added more to the first post? I didn't catch this when I set it up, so it generated only 26 sections. There is no quick way to add more sections. As you go, you can add more sections by clicking the Add Section button in the MW and assigning yourself the section. :)

Thanks so much Tricia!

Yes you are correct on the number of sections :)

I am really happy you are MC'ing this for me. I am going to ask Helen to be my DPL.

It has been almost 2 months since you set up this project. Are you planning on working on it soon? If not, we can stick it on hold for now, so I can free up MC space. :)

Tricia - I have set up projects as I am leaving on a 2 1/2 month vacation which includes 39 days on a cruise ship.

I might have set it up too early though! We leave in two weeks and although I am really busy getting ready as my husband is retiring this week and our plans got changed as we were flying to Perth, AU through China and now we are leaving earlier and going through Delhi, I am bringing all my recording stuff with me and going to make a big dent in this book along with 3 that I am close to finishing.

It is the perfect book to record considering we are cruising around New Zealand, Australia and then across the Pacific home to Vancouver. :)

So can we please just leave it as it is?

Hey Helen!

Two books done - next book has been started!

Section 0 is in the MW.

I will just pretend to be on a cruise when doing this one :)
