A Wheel Within A Wheel by Frances E Willard (1839 - 1898).
Frances Willard was an influential campaigner and educator for social reforms, temperance and women's education, suffrage and empowerment, as shown in her motto "Do everything". She was a long-serving national president of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU, also known as the "white ribbon" movement) and famous in many countries for her writings and speaking tours. This little book is a wryly humorous account of "How I Learned to Ride the Bicycle", something she achieved at the age of 53 and of which she was very proud! In it, she incorporates a strong encouragement to young girls and women to educate themselves in and pursue whatever role they feel an aptitude for, along with her firm Christian values and amusing anecdotes ( Anne Fletcher)
• This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page:
https://librivox.org/a-wheel-within-a-wheel-by-frances-e-willard/
- Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/60356
- Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!
Magic Window:
BC Admin
Genres for the project: *Non-fiction/Biography & Autobiography/Memoirs

Hi Anne,
This setup now. I will leave you here a bit longer to see if a prooflistener comes along.
Cheers!

Thank you Amy and Kevin! I have just realised that the conclusion, chapter 5, is in fact only three pages long...should I do this as a separate file or include 4 and 5 together? cheers, Anne

I can only give an opinion, but I think the author marked the chapters for a reason. I'd do them separately myself, but it's up to you as BC and with Amy's guidance.

I agree, Kevin. I think it should stay as Chapter 5 alone.
Kevin is added as DPL, and off to Going Solo.
Good night, Anne and Kevin!

I think my favorite quote, thus far, at least, is "I determined not to fall."
You've done a wonderful job with this ... and moving swiftly, too!
Section 1 through 3 all PL OK!

Thank you team

It's so much quicker when there's only the narrator's voice to think about! Taking a little break now before the family arrive so happy holidays to all, cheers Anne
