Oracles Of Nostradamus by Charles A. Ward (1846 - 1908).
Charles A. Ward was considered one of the most knowledgeable in his studies of the prophecies of Nostradamus. Ward viewed the prophecies of Nostradamus as predictions that only make sense in hindsight, rather than a tool for predicting future events. This work includes Ward's theories regarding the methods of prediction and his theoretical belief that the predictions were sequential. Ward details only a few of the actual predictions of Nostradamus in his interpretations but attempts to shed light on his theoretical orientation in hopes of making them easier to understand for the reader. - How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
- New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
- Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
- Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/oraclesofnostrad00warduoft/page/n4
- Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Listen to your file through headphones. If you can hear some constant background noise (hiss/buzz), you may want to clean it up a bit. The latest version of Audacity is recommended for noise-cleaning. See this LibriVox wiki page for a complete guide.
Save files as
128 kbps MP3
oraclesofnostradamus_##_ward_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. oraclesofnostradamus_01_ward_128kb.mp3)

Leni's MC'ing this? I set up a MW, then was editing the first post. I got down to the MC name, and there it was.
Well, the MW is set up.
Do you have a DPL lined up?

Hi Tricia,
Leni said he would be interested in MC'ing when I posted the project in book suggestions (see quote below). But that was a while ago. I filled his name into the original project generator form. Hope I didn't overstep. I will send him a PM and let him know we are up and going.
I do not have a DPL in mind. The MW is filled in and all is ready. I am hoping I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.

Oh, nice! I would be up for MCing it! I think you should try BCing, it is not as scary as it looks.

Well, I had offered to MC because you said you wouldn't. Quoting from the thread in Book Suggestions:

I myself am full up on MC projects, so at this moment I wouldn't be MC'ing it. But if you don't get either a BC, someone to share BC duties, or an MC (that happens in the Launch Pad), I might be able to help in a few weeks.
But since after one week you now seem to have the time AND arrived faster on the Launchpad, feel free. I would never get on the way.

No worries! I had some spots open up the past several days, and I forgot the conversation in the Launch Pad.
Either way.

Hi CJ--Could I please claim Section 26 "Appendix"--?
I would help out more here, but I just do not have the Latin or French skills to be able to do it. Maybe I can manage the Appendix!

Kind regards,
Lucretia

Thank you! I thought it was a very interesting book and would love to hear it on audio. I just don't have time to commit to a solo project this big right now. I am afraid the Latin may be scaring away some readers though.
Thanks for your contribution!

Lucretia,
Excellent reading!
I only have one thing that requires fixing:
At 6:33 after “end quote”, the text should go back where the asterisk left off ….This being derived from a falsity…. (p.352)
Also, do you want to put a “recording or read by...” at the end?
Thank you!
