Human, All Too Human: a book for free spirits, Part 1 by Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900). Translated by Helen Zimmern (1846 - 1934)

"Human, all-too-Human, is the monument of a crisis. It is entitled: 'A book for free spirits,' and almost every line in it represents a victory—in its pages I freed myself from everything foreign to my real nature. Idealism is foreign to me: the title says, 'Where you see ideal things, I see things which are only—human alas! all-too-human!' I know man better—the term 'free spirit' must here be understood in no other sense than this: a freed man, who has once more taken possession of himself." (Nietzsche; Ecce Homo, p. 75.)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/51935
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hey Aniroo, I would love for you to DPL this, assuming Dave is alright with that since he hopped in to check the introduction.

Section 01. There is just one error that should be fixed as it is an entirely different word and does change the meaning.

"he regards every sensation, every alteration" You read, "every alliteration" instead of alteration. It is between 29:36 and 29:40.

Also, although it was easy to listen to and not too loud, your volume was slightly over 92, which is the top number in the volume allowed. I don't think the volume is an issue, but it is something to watch in the future.

So, once the "alliteration" is fixed it will be PL OK.

BTW. I've really enjoyed listening to this section. You read intelligently and with a good pace that is easy to listen to and understand the meaning of what was written.

Stepping in here: levels over 92dB get rejected by the validator, so it's not just a question of whether it sounds OK :(
That said, before I catalog, I click on an 'adjust volume' tab, which evens out all sections somewhat, so as long as the other sections are below 92dB, it should be OK.

Hi, I will not be able to PL the corrected file until it is uploaded and the MC puts it in the MW, but I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the project. :D

Section 01 .

Correction of ALLITERATION (seamless, nicely done) was made and volume was reduce to within parameters, however, somehow it was exported as a STEREO file;it has to be MONO.

If you are using Audacity, this is an easy fix. When you go to export the file, at the very bottom of the export screen, right below the drop box for file type, under MP3, there is a little checkbox for FORCE EXPORT TO MONO. I tried that and it reduced the file to a mono file.

Sorry this is taking so long, but I think once you check that box, it won't need to be checked again. If you aren't using Audacity, I don't know how you would do that.

So after you export it as a mono file, you will have to upload it again.

Thanks, aniroo :)
