Портреты русских поэтов, Илья Эренбург (1891 - 1967).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here: https://librivox.org/portraits-of-russian-poets-by-ilya-ehrenburg/

Volunteers outside the USA: Ilya Ehrenburg died in 1967. His/Her work is still protected by copyright in places, like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1954) or Canada (author's death plus 50 years).
«Портреты русских поэтов»: Ахматова, Бальмонт, Балтрушайтис, Блок, Брюсов, Белый, Волошин, Есенин, Иванов, Мандельштам, Маяковский, Пастернак, Сологуб и Цветаева. Позднее эти очерки были переработаны и вошли в мемуары "Люди, Годы, Жизнь". С подборками стихов.
Portraits of Russian Poets: Akhmatova, Balmont, Baltrushaitis, Blok, Bryusov, Bely, Voloshin, Esenin, Ivanov, Mandelshtam, Mayakovsky, Pasternak, Sologub, and Tsvetayeva. Later to become expanded in his memoir "People, Years, Life". Short verse selections are included. (Mark Chulsky)
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6 to 8 below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://imwerden.de/pdf/erenburg_portrety_russkikh_poetov_1922.pdf
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I added the "not PD" blurb at the top. I won't be MC'ing because it's not PD for me, and I download/backup all the projects I MC.

You might have problems finding readers, since they'll all need to be in the US to record this. :hmm:

OK, Tricia, I understand it's not PD for many places, but it is PD in the US, and I have someone in mind who may help me reading.
I cannot find your added blurb, where is it?

The "volunteers outside the USA" part right below the title. :)

No worries if you and possibly others in the US are going to record it. I just wanted to make sure you knew that those outside the US couldn't.

Thank you Mary Ann!
A legal question right away -- does the DPL have to be in the US too, or could be anywhere?
Thanks again, looking forward to the MW!

The DPL should be somewhere where this book is not subject to copyright.

Very good Jane. I give you both the essay and the poems, right? Sections 1 and 2 are yours!
Thank you for the start!

I got two questions.
1. how do i read the title " ***" ? or i just skip the title and read the poem? or do i follow the tradition and read the first line as the title ?

2. Do i need to read the date at the end of the poem? and how will i read it ? 1961-ого года ? в 1961-ом году ?
