J.S. Bach, Vol. 1 by Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) . [Translated by Ernest Newman](1868-1959).
An analysis of Johann Sebastian Bach's life and musical compositions, and of the artistic, philosophical, and religious world in which he acted. (Introduction by Kathleen Norland)

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/js-bach-volume-1-by-albert-schweitzer/

Volunteers outside the USA: Albert Schweitzer died in 1965. His work may still be protected by copyright in places like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1954) or Canada (author's death plus 50 years).
  • Target completion date: September 1st, 2013
  • Text source: Volume I: http://www.archive.org/details/jsbachvolume1002520mbp
  • Type of proof-listening required: Standard
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project will be opened up to a group project as soon as a Book Coordinator can be found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to have it re-instated).

Chapter 2 is in.

Very skeptical about my ability to do the German bits. I basically said, "here goes nothing" and went for it.
Not sure if a German person would like my pronunciations, cadence or even my attitude.

KD, let me know if there's a way to fix any errors on my part.

Thanks

As they say, pronounce it like you know how to and keep on moving.

You could also give this a try: http://text-to-speech.imtranslator.net/
