Progress is under way on my section, but I'll be reading it over several times before recording, so it could still be another fortnight or so.

I was hoping to finish my section up this weekend, but the rainy/windy weather has not been conducive to recording. And I'll be going to work at camp for the summer, so I may not be able to do any more recording until September.

I have an awful lot of problems with [name removed]'s reading, but I guess since his mispronunciations are "consistent" I can't yell at him for that. I'll PL some of this if you give me a list of requirements.

That's how they taught me to pronounce it in college. But I'd be interested to know what the differences are for you.

We have a policy of not criticizing other readers (the "be nice" policy), so please refrain from further criticisms. Readers are allowed to have different accents and styles of reading and diversity is tolerated.

Does the reading have to be like the proper torah reading done at synagogue or normal reading?

Marilianus wrote this in response to a similar question:
Marilianus wrote:Any pronuciation is ok, but it should be consistent in itself. We have no examples yet, but I think the pronunciation of sonneteer and me will be quite near to the usage of the synagogues, which is probably more ashkenazic than sefardic. So don't preoccupy!

Could those who have claimed sections please give an update? Otherwise, these chapters may have to be orphaned.

Just bought a new microphone recently, and I fully intend to use it! My goal would actually be to finish this whole book by the end of the year. Hopefully my schedule will stabilize by the end of the month here, that I can start putting aside more time for LibriVox again.

Here's the latest update from the BC (21/05/2012):
Marilianus wrote:Hello Nicholas,

Nice to hear from You. It’s right, I wasn’t at librivox for almost a year. My life was so full of duties, and it got more difficult every month to go on with recordings. After this time, it is not easy to make a new start, but I’ll try at Pentecoste.

Yours

Hello Chaya and welcome to LibriVox.

I'm not sure how that question is relevant to this thread, but if you would like to volunteer and claim a section, please check out the Newbie Guide to Recording and post a test recording.
