The Thrill Book Vol. I No. 1, March 1, 1919, by Various.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-thrill-book-vol-i-no-1-march-1-1919-by-various/

Volunteers outside the USA: Greye La Spina died in 1969. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 50 years; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.

Volunteers outside the USA: Harold Hersey died in 1956. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 50 years; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
Thrill Book was a short-lived genre fiction precursor to Weird Tales featuring some of the same talent like Greye La Spina, Seabury Quinn, Clark Ashton Smith and Francis Stevens but with a somewhat broader scope that included crime and spy stories, westerns and adventure tales in addition to the sci-fi, fantasy and horror that Weird Tales was known for. In this first issue, marvel at the short story debut of noted Woman of Weird Fiction Greye La Spina! Thrill to the part one of three of the lost race jungle adventure serial "In the Shadows of Race"! Sink into the curious doppelgänger tale "The Man Who Met Himself"! Be amazed at part one of two of the mysterious and mystical tale of an ancient Egyptian curio in "The Jeweled Ibis"! All this and more! (Summary by Ben Tucker)

I read the last page, and agree I could use some "mental relaxation". How about I DPL this for you, Ben?

Sure thing! I just need someone to setup the MW, and we can get this thing going. I know Kitty was going to but apparently a couple of the authors aren't out of copyright in Europe.

Just a moment - your template is for a Solo , you have it labelled Group
If it is really a Solo changed the heading to say Solo

If it's really a group, you need to make a new template - you could then paste it in the first post here. I'll keep an eye on it

D'oh! See, this is what happens when I create two projects at the same time. Ok, the template should be correct now. Let me know if something else needs to be updated.

OK MW in place. I changed the generated file number as it had turned I into i for the volume number so I used 1 to try and keep the files in order.
Have fun both of you.

Thanks! I populated the metadata for the authors. It looks like quite a few of them aren't in the catalog though. Is that something you'll add when this project gets cataloged?

Also we should be good to move over to Readers Wanted Short Works!

Here are the ones that need adding:
Will Gage Carey - birth: 1877, death: ?
Roy Le Moyne - pseudonym of Harold Hersey (I put Roy Le Moyne as the name in the metadata... not sure how the catalog handles pseudonyms)
J. C. Kofoed - birth: 1897, death: 1979, legal name: Kofoed, John Christian
Donovan Bayley - birth: 1881, death: 1939
Feodor Vladimir Larrrovitch - birth: 1817, death: 1887
J. Hampton Bishop (I can't find any info on this author)

Alright, let's kick this thing off with the last section, which incidentally acts as a kind of mission statement for the magazine. Section 21 is up for PL!

And I guess I'll read 13 - The Man Who Met Himself.
And leave the tempting short titles for newer readers to crack their teeth on.
