Harper's Young People is an illustrated weekly publication for children that includes short stories, tales from history, natural history, poetry, puzzles, and other fun. This 32nd issue of the serial was published on June 8th, 1880. In this issue, the captain and crew of the Whitewing set sail in the second installment of "The Moral Pirates", "The Story of George Washington" finds the president keeping the peace with England and supporting a leader of the French Revolution, and a comical chain of events ensue when the carpenters scare a rat from its hiding spot in "The Adventures of a Rat Race". Other highlights of this issue include "A Chat About Philately", a story about stamp collecting's popularity; fearful accounts of North America's powerful "Grizzly Bear"; and, a chance encounter at just the right time is fortunate for a girl and her mother in "An Apronful of Water-Cresses". This periodical was published by Harper & Brothers, known today for their publications Harper's Bazaar and Harper's Magazine. (Summary by Jill Engle)

We watched the eclipse, too! Very cool. We also saw a Starlink satellite flying by for the first time and had no idea what it was. My son and I thought we spotted our first UFO until I googled it.

The Magic Window has been populated (and one section pre-claimed by moi). I think we're ready for Readers Wanted whenever you want to move us there, Jo! Thanks for volunteering for another issue as MC!

That's great! I was trying to figure out how to advise the reading of some portions of that philately text but wasn't finding definitive answers so I'm glad you have a leg up! Enjoy. :)
