All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/coffee-break-collection-034-vacations-by-various/

This is the 34th Coffee Break Collection, in which Librivox readers select and read Public Domain stories or poems, fiction or non-fiction pieces of fifteen minutes' duration or less, suitable for short commutes and coffee breaks. The subject for this collection is VACATIONS" -- vacation spots, travel experiences, etc.

Where do I find the text? Any Public Domain text is acceptable. Project Gutenberg is a good place to start.

Thanks for setting this up Lynne and Michele.
I am interested in reading the first couple of chapters.
I cannot find the text (I checked www.gutenberg.org) and google searches. Any leads?

It is up to the reader to find their own text. Try Gutenberg bookshelves as a starting point. Remember to keep on topic and that the final recording should be 15 minutes or less.

Hi there and welcome to Librivox, and this project. Our Short Story collections don't provide any text. Readers find a story they like in the PD, and submit it to a project it fits into, using the criteria spelled out in the First Post. In fact, please review the First Post for any project you want to participate on, as instructions vary from project to project. If you follow those instructions you can't go wrong. I look forward to seeing you around the LV playground. :D

Hi Michele

You've asked for the intro text "Title of story by author. Coffee Break Collection 33 - VACATIONS ...", which is what I've read. But "33" should probably be "34".

I'm sure that will be spotted at PL.

Steam Packet was a very humorous poem, and so delightfully read! Thank you for kicking off the collection with this contribution. With 34 added, t's PL OK, too, except I have to ask our MC if the source text passes muster. I've looked for it other places without success, so cross fingers that it is acceptable.

New version of Steam Packet uploaded, with "34". I took the opportunity also of adding "Recording by ..." into the intro.

Hi Michele

My contribution is a four day holiday on the Norfolk Broads - compressed into a mere 15 minutes!

Messing about on the water whilst brewing up a pot of tea and watching the (Norfolk) countryside slowly drift by - It's surely got to float anyone's boat! :)
