If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Great, thanks, Jo! It's a short one -- a novella really.

Hi, Amy :) Sections 1-3 are PL OK

I really enjoy Cather's way of writing about people. She fleshes them out so well as you go along, without feeling pedantic at all.

Hi Lynette!

Sections 4, 5 and 6, the last of Part I, have been uploaded. Already half-way done!

I agree about the way Cather builds characters. They're never quite completely likable or dislikable. I read that she based the Henshawes on S. S. McClure and his wife, Maria Montessori. She looked a lot like Myra. Apparently he was quite the womanizer. Interesting life!

Sections 7 and 8 are both PL OK

That was a direction in the story that I hadn't anticipated.

Hi Lynette,

Sections 9-11 (Part II, Section III-V) have been uploaded. Sad to say, it's pretty grim from here on out . . .

Thanks,
Amy

And just like that . . . it's over! The last two sections have been uploaded.

Poor Myra. At least she died with her furs on.

Thanks!

Sections 12 and 13 are both PL OK

That's a brilliant, yet depression one from Cather - as was One of Our Own.

I'm so glad I saw your project starting up. I always thought of Willa Cather as a Pioneer Author, but there's so much more breadth to her writings than that.

Congratulations on finishing your book!
