An American Tragedy, Volume 2 , by Theodore Dreiser (1871 - 1945)

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/an-american-tragedy-vol2-by-theodore-dreiser/
The saga of Clyde, Roberta, and Sondra continues in volume 2 of 2. Social-climbing Clyde Griffiths wants nothing more than to marry the wealthy Sondra Finchley and ascend to the highest levels of Upstate New York society. However, there is a glaring obstacle in his way: Roberta's pregnancy. Both had hoped to keep their illicit relationship a secret, but if Clyde can't find a doctor willing to help them, something must be done. Perhaps something drastic . . .

The tense and thrilling conclusion to Dreiser's genre-defining novel of love, pain, the law, and the spirit. (Summary by Tatiana Chichilla )

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thanks both! I am enjoying this book so much more the second time around, and being a little older than the first time I read it.

Posted 4 and 5leaving off on #51. Had forgotten to track my pages, oops. Please don't feel any hurry on PLing this one - I know the other one isn't done, I just have so much energy to finish this because we're getting to the exciting parts.

No problem thank you. I have a system for PL ing so that I do them all in the order in which they are posted on the threads.
Thank you

I have posted chapter 9! this is a long one and I was very tense while reading it from the drama. Audacity had some audio dropouts due to memory usage spikes and I think I fixed all of those correctly but of course let me know if something is getting cut off.

EDIT: I couldn't help myself so I also did 10, 11, and 12. #112
