IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Greetings -

I was shaking my head to see if the rattle had gotten worse for a minute.

Then I realized two Thessalonians projects are going right now.

Mark Penfold is doing one using the Weymouth New Testament.

Weymouth and YLT are two of my go-to comparisons to the more modern translations.

DPL?

Lomond, thank you!

Even while I am rather traditional, I still love the Good News Bible from my earlier days.

I was holding off on this one, since I'm MC'ing the other Thessalonians project. But since the file names are different (due to the different versions), things won't get mixed up... right?

I'll MC this. :)

EDIT: I changed your file naming structure, but feel free to use whatever you think is best.

That sounds like the lead-in to a bad punchline.

Greetings -

Just a couple of aberrations to attend to and these will be PL OK.

1 Thessalonians

TIME: 04:43 TEXT: "our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? are not even" Reading has "crowning" instead of "crown".

2 Thessalonians

TIME: 01:35 TEXT: "believing—because our testimony was believed" Reading has "your" instead of "our".

As has been noted in the past, reading the YLT is like driving down a bumpy road...you will get there but it won't be as smooth as other roads.

I have not had a chance to explore the Literal Standard Version that came out a year ago. Always fun to poke around in a new translation.

Which book next, Kevin?

I'm working on 1 and 2 Timothy today!

Thanks very much for the PL work! I will make the corrections tomorrow.

If I didn't know Scripture---though certainly not an expert---I would not always understand this translation!

In the spirit and language of the YLT...I would be age-enduring trying to figure some of it out. :)

I'll DPL the Timothys if you would like.

I overstepped my bounds and took the liberty of spot PL'ing these. They're OK, so I'm proceeding to cataloging. :)
