De Viris Illustribus (On Illustrious Men) by Saint Jerome (347 - 420). Translated by Philip Schaff (1819 - 1893)

De Viris Illustribus (On Illustrious Men) is a collection of 135 short biographies of important Church writers from the history of the Christian Church, in St. Jerome's time. It was composed in Latin in Bethlehem by St. Jerome in 392 AD. There is also a Greek version of the book, potentially by Sophronius (Chapter 134). The work was dedicated to Flavius Lucius Dexter, who served as high chamberlain to Emperor Theodosius I. Dexter was also the son of Saint Pacianus, who is included in the work. The book is one of the earliest examples of a collection of the lives of the saints, and provides valuable insight about the early writers and writings of the Church. (summarized from Wikipedia)

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I can set this up for you :) Back in a little bit with a MW

ETA:
Here we go. As usual, no need to add the ID3 tags on the recordings. I changed the intro disclaimer to Section, it looks like that will work best for this book.

There is no need to put in the meta-data!? That's good to know. Apparently I've been wasting a lot typing... Anyway thank you for setting this up.
