(1831 - 1895).

This project is now complete! All files can be downloaded from the LibriVox catalog page:
https://librivox.org/yuletide-stories-by-nikolai-leskov/

Nikolai Leskov (1831 – 1895) was a Russian novelist and short-story writer whose reputation suffered because of his non-conformist views. He created a fascinating picture of wide layers of contemporary Russian society mostly using short literary forms, as reflected in his Yuletide Stories.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Mark, we'll need at least a rough estimate of the number of sections this will have to set the project up. :D
Cheers, Ava.

Indeed! I'll need at least 10, will add more if necessary.
Sorry I missed that, and thank you, Ava, for the catch!

Since people seem to be intimidated by the Russian, I'll MC this for you. Give me a bit of time to set up the MW; if you like, you can start uploading to my folder already though.
Cheers, Ava.

More to follow.

Thank you, Gingema! I'll sure take a look!
If you make suggestions, please don't mark the sections "PL OK", mark them "See PL notes", that makes tracking them easier :-)

Part 1 fixed, thank you! (https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/yuletidestories_01_leskov_128kb.mp3), please spot-PL at 1:37.
Part 2, in fact, the word is not "culotte", but "calotte" (cap), and Leskov must be playing on the similarity, however my unpardonable French does not allow me to convey the word play adequately :-(. Leaving as is, unless you have better ideas.
