Kitty wrote: November 3rd, 2022, 6:39 am thank you, Mattea, excellent play-acting again. And compared to your impeccable British upper class accent, I fear I (as your mother here) will fail miserably to try to live up to this.

You made her much more arrogant than I expected her when I read the play, I thought she was only the demure, hen-pecked girl. But you give her another deeper layer, and this way, we sympathize a bit less with her lot, because she seems to be much more like her mother  an interesting twist in the play. I love it that each player gives their own interpretation and gives the play a new unforeseen turn.

Act 4 is already PL ok.

One missed line in Act 3:

> at about 1:55: please insert: "Hush, mamma dear; all Leslie means is that she is proud of her husband’s goodness. What wife would not be?"

Sonia
Here's the amended version of Act 2:

I'm glad I was able to add a new dimension to the character

I waited long enough to make sure I would not get burned by the dragon flames, but I see that a month was not nearly enough. Whew. Also, how to you walk around without tripping over everything what with your nose so high in the air??

Exactly what this part wanted. PL OK.

Thanks, Todd

 I thought the same when I was recording the part. It was fun. Thank you, Todd :9:

thank you, Jenn, you sound so youthful and fresh and enthusiastic. I predict this will drastically change in the next acts ;) Wonderfully portrayed though and PL ok.

Thank you

Leslie has her rose-tinted glasses removed and sees the harsh truth. The despair is palpable at the end. I must say, I had a bit of a hard time sympathizing with her though. Her morals are a bit too strict and she was too naive in her adoration of a man she barely knew, no wonder she was disappointed in the end.

Another great act and PL ok, thank you :)

Thanks so much! I felt the same about her. Here is the final act. I feel much more comfortable in my voice when it comes to comedy so this ending was challenging. Hope it works:

it SO works  your ending is very tragic and you play the emotions perfectly. WOW, well done.

But I agree with you, I also love Pinero's comedies much more than the social criticism plays. :? Though I also enjoy a good classical tragedy, my heart is more with the comedies, I guess.

Only one small correction:

> at 4:23: "and Mr. Murray says that chance is a just arbiter" - you say "just an arbiter", which is a significant difference ;)

thanks, great performance !
