Mucedorus, by William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616)
The 1610 edition says it is by Shakespeare, and the play was in a volume of Shakespeare in the library of Charles the Second. But, well, likely not actually a Shakespeare.... Perhaps by Robert Green (1558 - 1592)

This play is mentioned as being popular in the 1611 Beaumont and Fletcher play 'The Knight of the Burning Pestle';. In fact, Mucedorus 'was enormously successful. This absurd play, with the merits and defects of a nursery tale, was acted by strolling companies everywhere till long after the Commonwealth, and passed through seventeen editions between 1598 and 1700, a record unequaled in the history of the pre-Restoration drama.' (Summary by ToddHW and Tucker Brooke)
This project is complete. Audio files can be found on our LV catalog page at https://librivox.org/mucedorus-by-william-shakespeare/

From the Title Page: "A Most pleasant Comedie of Mucedorus the kings sonne of Valentia and Amadine the kings daughter of Arragon, with the merie conceites of Mouse. Newly set foorth as it hath bin sundrie times plaide in the honorable Cittie of London, Very delectable and full of mirth. London. Printed for William Jones, dwelling at Holborne conduit, at the signe of the Gunne. 1598."

As you can see, there is some, er, interesting spelling throughout this. Good luck.

Sonia is Envy, or Enuie, or some of those other various alternate spelling. She will not be so tolerant of your alternates in her role as DPL, so be careful.

As you can see from the casting, I have firmly answered that burning question of whether I am a man or a mouse.

Gender neutral.

getting the first short role quickly in, here is Envy in all her self-complacent glory. I had fun sneering spitefully, and I see I have yet again the last word  Though I think she was subdued a bit too fast by the rising sun in the end.

Hope you like it:

Well, interesting role as magical overseer? Guess I'll have to read more of the in between to see why you are saying what you do at start and finish. And why you gloat so heartily and so well - and yet then just give up....

PL OK.

Thanks, Todd

Thank you.

I don't know the difference between Italian and Spanish "c" so as to comment.... But in general, so long as readers are consistent within their own files, differences between readers are just part of their characters' accents.
