"A Country Mouse", by Arthur Law (1844 - 1913)
You could be forgiven upon reading that title, not to mention auditing the opening scene, for thinking that this is a play of a simple country girl fallen among aristocratic Victorian-era swingers in the big city.

But this Country Mouse is anything but innocent.

Hi Chris
I suppose I should act my age and play the Duke, although he is a young man by my standards 😺

Given who the Duke marries in the final scene, it would seem that while there may be snow on the roof, there's still a fire in the hearth.

Signing you up.
