Her is Xiphares Act 1. Duration 11:13 and passed in Checker.
Not one of my better readings I'm afraid...

not bad at all, Tchaikovsky, I liked the emotions and powerful feelings you displayed, especially when professing your vow of love to Monima. There was nothing that struck me as bad in this performance.

I did find a few things to correct though:

> at 1:14: (p. 74) "contented with the states assigned to me, shall see without regret" – you say "we shall see" (he means only himself though)

> from 3:16-3:19: (p. 75) between "the offers of the Romans" and "whether in jealous rage" – the long silence can be cut, since it's all inside the same speech chunk

> from 4:05-4:08: (p. 75) between "its only enemies" and "more I would fain have done" – also here, silence can get cut

> at 10:21: (p. 83) "her secret feelings are to me unknown" – you say "his"

thank you, it's a good start for Xiphares  looking forward to the rest

Hi Sonia,
Thanks very much for the pep chat. Heroic dialogue is a bit harder to emote than I had imagined. Here are the corrections for Act 1. The new duration is 11:06.

ah I am just the opposite. I love to emote heroic tragedies, but comedy I find much harder. Though I am getting more practice at comedy these days, so I find it easier with each role.

Spot PL ok now, thanks

Here's Arcas, doing all he can to immiserate his fellow actors within one minute.

 thank you, Joanna, yes, Arcas seems only to show up for doom and gloom. He should have gotten a bigger role in my opinion. Nicely played out, and both files are PL ok

how you can be grief-stricken while being governor of a place called Nymphaeum is a mystery to me (the name kinda tells you what sort of women live in that town - must be fun ;) )

an excellent portrayal, Todd, and Arbates is totally PL ok. At last you came to rescue Monima, so I am probably biased in your favour now.

Thanks
