Stage directions act 1 revised

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/mithridates_stagedirections_1.mp3

I have added the Introduction and corrected the name in the intro, the DP (where it occurs no less than 6 times) and the title of the play. I have also changed the filename :?

Spent the entire afternoon on Monima and here she is :) what a wonderful tragic heroine as only Racine can write them. But actually...the ending for Monima and Xiphares is rather a happy one, even though tainted by the father's death. But they are free to share their love now. As tragedies go, this one is quite surprising at the end.

I hope you enjoy the performance Todd. I liked to veer between despair, subdued duty and later disdain and rebellious spirit when she finds she has been betrayed. 8-) I love such great emotions !

What a twisting tale and surprising conclusion. I feel I have been through an emotional wringer. There's material in your reading of Monima for at least half a dozen country and western songs! Wonderfully performed and definitely PL OK. It was a pleasure to listen to this!

Thanks, Todd

 Racine wrote western songs ! Never thought about it this way. But yes, I see what you mean. Maybe it's because of the "overcoming all the difficulties" in the end.

Thank you for the quick PL and I'm glad you liked it. And I am doubly glad now I took on the role after all my apprehensions in the beginning. :9: It was a good part.

Didn't waste a lot of time on stage directions, did he?
indeed  this is one of the plays where the narrator really doesn't have much of airplay. But still...it's a challenge to find all the small descriptions if they finally do show up. You missed one in Act 3 ;)

> at about 1:17: (p. 110) please insert "Monima, going away"

Act 2 is perfectly PL ok though

Thank you
