Understood Betsy, by Dorothy Canfield Fisher (1879 - 1958)

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/understood-betsy-by-dorothy-canfield-fisher-3/

Volunteers outside the USA: Dorothy Canfield Fisher died in 1958. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 50 years; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
Sickly and sheltered, nine-year-old Elizabeth Ann is horrified to hear she must be sent away to live with the "Putney cousins." According to Aunt Harriet, these mysterious relations are cold-hearted and stiff-necked, in addition to being heavy-handed with the delegation of children's chores. But what does life at the Putney farm truly have in store for her?

What fun! I loved this book as a girl!
It's been awhile since I took part in a DR, but I'd love to read Aunt Abigail Putney, if that part is not yet claimed!

I loved this book when I was little, but haven't read it for a long time. May I please read Ann Putney (part 5)?
Back from a low-internet no-Librivox year in Georgia. Glad to be with you again.

I would be interested in claiming Aunt Frances, if she's available.

What a fun project.

Thank you,
Kim L.
