You've got to love the messes Gilbert characters get themselves into!

Let me know if anything needs to be changed for fixed, especially with the supposed songs once the other parts come in... Especially given that a lot of that should be done with one or more characters and I'm hopeless with keeping any sense of rhythm (even in chant).

Hi Annie!

Nicely done! Just a few PL notes:

Act 1:

~5:00 - Missing line "But bless me Alexis...".

~6:00 - Possible missing line? Women: "The eggs, the ham..." - I read this as intending all of the Women on stage, not just the women of the Chorus...but I could be mistaken.

~7:20 - Missing Tutti (All) lines: "Eat, drink and be gay..."

One minor, optional note - I don't think this particularly affects the meaning of the line, but you may want to correct it for consistency's sake:

4:53 - Text is Dr. Daly, rather than Mr. Daly

Act 2:

0:27 - Text is "united" rather than "untied"

~2:50 - Missing Ensemble lines: "She will tend him..."

~3:09 - As above. Missing Ensemble lines: "She will tend to him..."

~3:50 - Missing Recitative lines: "Alexis! Doubt me not..."

~5:29 - Missing Ensemble lines: "Some most extraordinary spell..."

Optional:

3:10 - Text is "this was to have been" rather than "this was meant to be"

Note to Todd (also to any relevant readers for this piece) - I think it goes without saying that this is a somewhat challenging text, given the "musical" sections / terms and whatnot. If my interpretation of who should be speaking which lines ever contradicts / clashes with what you think is best, I'm always open to feedback on my PL-ing :)

Best approach: if in doubt, please record it. I will have to figure this all out when I edit, but it is hard for me to do until then.

Thanks, Todd

Wonderful - thanks! Act 1 is now PL OK, but still one tiny note for Act 2:

~0:20 - Looks like you've accidentally cut the top of this section. Missing "Oh joy! Oh joy! The charm works well, and all are now united".

Otherwise all is well! :)

Hello,

Here is the Page for PL. I could only find three lines of text in the play, so if I have missed any please let me know.

Excellent! This is PL OK for all of the Page-specific lines, but there is point at the end of the act where "all the dramatis personae" reenter the stage - personally, I'd interpret that as including the lowly Page as well. If you agree, please add the following:

Women (Pg. 256): "The eggs, the ham, and the strawberry jam!"
...or alternatively, if you see this character as a male Page: "The rollicking bun, and the gay Sally Lunn! The rollicking, rollicking bun!"

Tutti (All) lines on Pg. 258: From "Oh marvelous illusion! Oh terrible surprise!" through to end of the Act.

Thanks!

Oops, my bad. I actually cut that line thinking that I had stolen Alexis's line from above! Sorry!

Male Chorus act 1

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/sorcerer_malechorus_1.mp3

I have included all the chorus bits I could find including the Chorus of Girls (incongruous as that seems) as it was specified in MW.
I have actually done two version of this, one in my normal voice and one in a higher pitched voice in case you want me to try to sound like a girl

Thank you. Who knows? When I edit everything together, I may be inspired to use both versions....

Im sorry for missing these lines, thank you for flagging it up for me!

I've added then to the recording, I've tried to chant/say them as I have no musicality or rhythm.

Duration 1 minute 7 seconds

Thanks,

Thank you.

Chanting for combined lines can be in a rhythm - it is sung notes that I can't get to match up easily.
