Question: How does a Chorus role work?
Roxy
Every possible line in an act that is chorus would be chanted - not sung. I broke the Chorus roles in two so that when there are gender divisions in the words said I will end up with both variations. (Take a listen to part of the MW section "Chorus - Male, Act 1" by alanmapstone if you wish - he says he actually did a deep male and a high female variant.)
When I assemble the play, I will overlay the two choruses (as well as any principals also involved) and make the words synchronize. Or I might alternate lines between characters in the ensemble - don't know yet.
Thanks, Todd

Happy to do the stage directions if they are still available.

Hi Michele - apologies for my delay in PLing this.wib66 wrote: ↑March 6th, 2021, 4:20 pm Here are the stage directions

A few small things:
Act 1:
0:18 - Text is "Dramatis Personae", rather than the translated "Persons of the Play"
~2:35 - Missing "Recitative"
~9:50 - Missing "Chorus of Spirits"
10:22 - Text is "Chorus of Fiends" rather than "Friends"
12:45 - "Brindisi" cut off / long pause
~12:56 - Missing "Tutti"
13:04 - Extra "Alexis read by" after end of Act
Act 2:
~0:55 - Missing "Aria - Constance"
~1:57 - Missing "Aside to Aline"
~6:17 - Missing "Aline, wildly"
Hope these aren't too nitpicky - I wanted to note everything, just in case
Thanks!

Act 1:
Still has "Persons of the Play" at the top rather than "Dramatis Personae" - although I feel like that note may be stricter than necessary for Standard PL? The meaning is the same, after all. Could someone weigh in with a second opinion?
Act 2:
~6:28 - Still missing an "Aline, wildly". You have it in there once, but it's repeated for her next line as well. Page 268.
Otherwise all is well! Thanks again!

I think the PL notes are appropriate, but the first is optional - I can live with "Persons of the Play" if I must.
The missing "Aline, wildly" can just be the first copied (if it were a standard character line, it might have different inflections different times, but that is less likely as a narrator line). But I do need two of them if there are two in the script - I use the narrator track as the basis for the master file when I assemble the play and really depend upon the right number of lines being there.
Thanks, Todd
