If there's no reason I shouldn't, I'd love to take the lone ranger section (Sandy Tyrell).

Everytime I record myself as Clara, my voice somehow doesn't feel right for the part. The script has her sometimes drop her 'H's, and other time she says her "h"s. This causes me to inconsistently give her a jarringly unrealistic cockney accent. Clara seems to be an older woman; she's on her second career and not too happy about it (thought she's trying very hard to keep up a good face for her employers.) My voice, on the other hand, is young and youthful, and though I've been researching techniques I can't seem to get her voice to sound "just right."

I suppose I'm asking for an extension? Since my first month is almost up...

Any advise? Tip? Am I looking into this too much?

My main advice is: don't sweat it too much! Feel free to do her voice with as little accent as you'd like (or as much). Her exasperation is more important (in my opinion) than her age. If you want to make her sound a bit older you might want to try dropping your register a little or being a little "gruff". In LibriVox we're often not the age (or even gender) that the role seems to require. Have fun and I'm sure you'll do just fine.

And no need for an extension; you have two months from your claim date.

I look forward to it.

Thanks,
Wendy

Thanks for the corrections. All the lines are right, but I'll need you to cut and paste two of them into the right spots. It's tricky doing corrections with times because the times change due to the earlier corrections. A trick I've learned is to make the corrections starting from the end of the act--that way the times still work. Once these two corrections are done the file will be perfect:

Please move "Simon, weakly" to AFTER "She gurgles with laughter" (you can find these approximate times on the earlier note)
and "He and Myra go off" to AFTER "Over his shoulder to Richard and Jackie"

Thanks,
Wendy

Thanks so much for your good work on this! Just a few changes:

~1:24 There's a typo in the script I forgot to mention. It should be "Sandy confidentially to Jackie" (not Simon)
~7:07 Stumble "She plays and sings a little French song."
~9:04 (after "ignoring all interruption") "She pushes him towards the garden"
~9:33 During the long stage direction. It should read "THEN assuming an expression" (not THUS)

Thanks,
Wendy
