Please credit me in print as Diana Helen Kennedy. Thanks!
Where have you been all my life, Diana? lol! I love your voice and your acting. You definitely need to grab some larger parts in my future projects.

Man 2 Chapter 1, Elevator Boy Chapter 2, Waiter Chapter 4, and Dr. Civet Chapter 6 are all PL OK!

You missed a couple of laughs and group lines in Chapter 3:

On page 2:
[GIRL 1, LUCILLE, OWL EYES, MAN 2, DRUNK DRIVER, WOMAN 1, WOMAN 2, WOMAN 3: BACKGROUND LAUGHTER]

On page 13:
[JORDAN, GIRL 1, LUCILLE, OWL EYES, MAN 2, DRUNK DRIVER, WOMAN 1, WOMAN 2, WOMAN 3: LAUGH]

On page 18:
GIRL 1, LUCILLE, OWL EYES, MAN 2, WOMAN 1, WOMAN 2, WOMAN 3: ‘Ah-h-h!’

You could submit these as a separate file if it would be easier.

Also, I'm also gathering ad-lib background chit-chat and laughter for the two big Gatsby parties. If you'd like to contribute, you could just add it to this file.

Thanks so much!
TJ
Thanks so much for the compliment! Feel free to message me when a new project comes available. I’ve noticed these things fill up quickly. I’ll work on the additional dialogue this week. dhk

TJ, I hate to say it, but I'm going to have to burst your bubble regarding your background chatter and so forth that you have planned. I understand the desire to add realism to dramatic recordings, but even with our dramatic projects, we are making audiobooks, not audio dramas. When I first heard you talk about this plan, I wasn't quite comfortable with it. But when I asked for input from the other admins, they all agreed that this isn't a good idea. For one thing, it could be seen as changing the text by adding words and phrases that the author never wrote. But the biggest objection (for me personally, at least) is that it could negatively impact intelligibility of the text. Quite a lot of people struggle to hear and understand when there is a lot going on in the background, and our goal is to make audiobooks that are accessible for all. I'm afraid that the same goes for the music you'd like to add in the background. If you're really determined to make the more "audio-drama" version with the sounds effects, you can always upload that one to Archive separately (after having removed the audio references to LV). We can even state in the description that it is an option and include a link. But the version that we host should be free of these added effects.

(As a side note, I learned today that we did include background chatter in the first version of Ulysses, way back in 2007, and it hasn't gone over well with listeners. :( https://archive.org/details/ulysses_2007_librivox )

No problem. I‘ll just add a little background laughter (but in vocal pauses). Thanks.

Here is the extra laughter for Man 2 in Chapter 3. Hope you don't mind that I added it as a separate file. I gave a few different options. I think that should be it based on what I see above?

44 sec.
probably the previous one, chapter 3, was about 25-26 - probably my bad before.

Unfortunately you read the part of "Woman 3" and we already have that part recorded by someone else. The lines I need for Chapter 6 are on Page 13:

WOMAN 2: ‘She’s much obliged, I’m sure,’

‘WOMAN 2: But you got her dress all wet when you stuck her head in the pool.’

Thanks,
TJ

Hi TJ,
I have followed all your last instructions even though I have not fully understood the selection: some of the phrases seemed to me the narrative speech and not characters' speech. For my better understanding of all the LV thing (which I am quite new to) would you explain that to me? However, Hope it's fine.
HAPPY EASTER.

Hi TJ,
I have the roles of Woman 1 and Miss Baedeker. I submitted my lines for Woman 1 a while ago but I haven’t heard anything back from you yet. I’m resubmitting those files here because I realized that the first time I submitted them I hadn’t put them through ReplayGain/made necessary changes to Amplification. Please let me know if you need me to make any changes. I’ll be submitting my lines for Miss Baedeker by sometime on Sunday at the latest. :)

Whoops, looks like I owe you an Aaah and a different laugh for another chapter. Lordy, I need to learn reading comprehension all over again. My apologies.

Thank you so much!

Hi Eleonora!

Thanks for the revised files. Yes, I like to give as much of the narrative to readers other than the narrator as possible -- I think it's more lively and dramatic. So I not only assign quotes to other readers, but also paraphrased lines which can be attributed to other characters. Not all dramatic reading BCs do it that way, however. I like present some of the paraphrased backstory as if they were clips from a documentary film. We get the drama enacted before our eyes (or in this case before our ears  ), and I interject little clips in which people are explaining (maybe years later) what they remember and how the felt at the time. So Nick only knows that motorists saw Wilson staring oddly add them from the side of the road presumably because one or more of them reported this, presumably to the police, and Nick presumably learned about it later. So instead of having Nick tell it, I let the motorists themselves tell it. Ya, I like to be artistic...

Woman 2 Chapters 3 & 6, the Nurse Chapter 7, and the Motorist Chapter 8 are all PL OK.

I have one optional note for the voice credit. You can keep it as is: "Woman 2 read by Eleonora Bettenzoli" or if you like you can list the three roles: "Woman 2, the nurse, and a motorist read by Eleonora Bettenzoli" -- both are fine.

Thanks!

I've updated the laughter file, added a few more laugh choices and some "Ah"s. Hopefully that is everything now. Thanks.

Just wanted to check that the new files were okay for Man 2? In a few days I will be away from my booth for a while.

Oops, sorry. I got distracted by life. I‘ll try to get caught up on this project in the next couple of days.

Thanks!
