If I understand correctly this is your first time participating in a Dramatic Work here at LibriVox. Excellent job!
There are just a couple of things I’ll ask you to do to make sure everything is good to go for Act 1
Beginning- we are missing your voice credit. Since I have a couple of other edits I’ll go ahead and ask you to insert it here in Act 1 at the beginning. We normally include the entire description of the character in the Magic Window so please add:
Tom Cobb, Young Surgeon, read by [your name]
6:19- I’m hearing “I’m at my
fits’ end.” It didn’t quite sound right to my ears and I noticed there is a smudge in the copy of the play we are using. I tracked down another copy and the phrase should actually be:
“I’m at my wits’ end.”
I think it will sound better with “wits’ end” so would you please re-record that line and insert it into the same file.
9:40- hear “didn’t
I, dear?”; text reads
“didn’t he, dear?”
In context of what Tom and Matilda are talking about it would make more sense to change it to 'he'.
Once you have made the corrections, reupload the same file, and post that it is ready for me to spot check. I'm looking forward to listening to Acts 2 and 3 when they are ready!
Oh and one last thing I’ll mention. Make sure to leave enough space in your lines when a stage direction interrupts your line. There were a couple of spots that didn’t have much space and it makes it much easier to stitch everyone’s lines together where there is a clear space. No need to correct it on this file, Todd will work it out, but keep it in mind for the other Acts.
