COMPLETE[PLAY]One Act Play Collection 015 - thw

Great. This collection is intended for doing exactly that - letting you run a play while

I handle the MW-related things
* setting up the MW at start
* registering claims and changes in their status until everything is PL OK
* (as part of that, I orphan any lingering claims over their 60 day point unless you grant extensions)
* getting rid of the part files as they are superseded by the combined master file with everybody in it
* make sure everything is ready to catalog

You will
* find a play (you've done that)
* figure out PD text link and author bio (dates for PDness; wikipediea link if possible)
* do or arrange to have done all the part PLs
* live through the surprise of having some people not able to deliver what they claimed - Real Life does intervene....
* edit the play together and get that PL'd (you can't PL your own final file - need someone else to listen)
* make up the cast list for the catalog
* have done everything to run a play except the MW things by the end of this project

Process starts with you giving me the info as you see in Chris's post above - except that he forgot to post who the author was.

Enjoy, ask questions. A second reason for this collection is that some of us just like doing these shorter plays, even though we also do longer ones, so other folks here can jump in and give you advice whenever I'm not around.

Sorry. Looks like anything by Pillot is not out of copyright in Australia - he died in 1966.

Yes, the PD laws are annoying. And this one has some more "PD gottchas" in it. While it is definitely PD in the US under the US law of publication date - hence Gutenberg having it online - most of the world has death date law and this fails that. But it isn't just Speenhoff's death (1945) that matters:

First, the death dates for the translators - they added intellectual effort into the play when they did their work so their date matters too. Hathi has no date info for Huizinga, but Loving as born 1893 and might/might not have been alive past 1950.

Second, the Editors of the collection, Loving (again) and Frank Shay, who MIGHT have done something other than just print what was translated. Hathi has Shay as 1888-1954 so that doesn't fit the usual 70 years for PD, though the law in Australia has something about "for author's who died before 1955".... But the uncertainty with Huizinga and Loving means we can't assure it is PD worldwide anyway.

Sorry this PD stuff is so messy.
